I just love this recipe and I know if you’ve got edible flowers growing in your garden, you’ll love it too!

What I really love about it is how simple it is to make, and how it magically transforms something as ordinary as a piece of bread, cracker or vegetable into the prettiest snack.

Use one or more shades and varieties of edible flowers to create the colour scheme you’re after. The fun part is to get as creative as you feel like.

Today, for example, I chose to go for a Rainbow scheme, as the garden is bursting with flowers from all shapes and sizes and the theme I had in mind was garden/ fairy party. And I’m sure you’ll agree, the two snacks/ finger-food suggestions following the recipe - Viola Toasts and Fairy Cucumber Rounds - are both perfect for a fairy picnic in the sun or garden celebration!

This spread would also be a fun addition to the lunchbox, to smear on crackers or made into a softer dip (add a little extra milk) to have with vegetable sticks or stuff cherry tomatoes.

You could also turn into a Cream Cheese Frosting, by adding sifted icing sugar, and pipe or spread over mini cupcakes.

Great for the lunchbox :)
