Happy Holidays Foot Soak

A lovely DIY gift children can easily assemble to treat loved ones

Holiday season is here and it’s time to put our feet up and relax. Our ‘Happy Holidays’ Foot Soak’ is simply perfect to help mums, dads and loved ones to unwind after a busy year (or any other time, really!).

This adorable gift is also very easy and quick to make, only taking 3 ingredients - Epsom salts, baking soda and dried flowers - which we collected from our CP garden and dried ourselves (check our Drying Herbs is Fun! and Using Edible Flowers blogs to learn more about it).

For this blog we’ve chosen to use chamomile and lavender, as both have relaxing and calming properties and we had a large quantity available, but you could create your own mix of dried flowers, herbs, fruits or spices - such as rose petals and dried citrus peel, or rosemary and mint, for example.

The foot print adds a cute and personal touch to the packaging

The quantities in the recipe below are enough for 2 x feet-only bucket soaks, but can easily be multiplied, if you decide to set this as a group activity and make a large batch to be divided among several bags or jars instead. On the other hand, it can also be split to make enough for just 1 x feet-only bucket soak for each child.

Our choice of packaging this time was plain paper bags and a selection of recycled ribbons we had lying around. We’ve also added individual foot prints from each child, which added a personal touch, and instructions labels, which were handwritten but could have easily been designed on Word or similar and printed. Both of these were made in advance.
