The Easiest Way To Cut A Pineapple

While out in the community delivering our workshops to early childhood centres’ cooks and teachers, we found out that whole fresh pineapple is one of the foods they were mostly unsure on how to prepare, sometimes avoiding purchasing it altogether. This is a shame, because not only pineapple has several health benefits - including being very high in nutrients, helping with digestion and boosting the immune system - it’s also delicious, versatile and very budget friendly, specially at this time of the year. If you can relate to this - and before we move on to the recipe for our delicious Pineapple, Banana & Coconut Cooler, we’d like to share with you our step-by-step guide for the Easiest Way to Cut A Pineapple!

  1. Top and tail pineapple using a large knife.

  2. Stand pineapple on the board and remove peel by using the black “eyes” as a guide.

  3. Cut pineapple into quarters.

  4. Remove the core of each quarter.

  5. Pineapple quarters.

  6. Options for cutting each quarter: diced, cut into strips, sliced.
